Anyone got a Beltronics STi Radar Detector?

I plugged one of these in to my car the other day and whenever I moved it over the transmission tunnel in my E46 it set the laser alert off and did so everytime I did it. The only thing I can think of is the bluetooth transmitter is somehow upsetting it.

Anyone else had such an experience?

Do you have navigation?

This is normal for many laser detectors. I have a Passport 9500ix, and it will go off when I point it at my 750iL nav display or my Honda Odyssey nav display.

Yes I have navigation, there must be some form of electronic emmission from the screen that sets it off then.

Yes, I think that most LCD screens emit light in the infrared spectrum that triggers laser detector false alarms. Your cell phone will probably set it off too.
