What Navigation/sound system to get?
Forgive me if this is a abused topic.. Im ne to electronics.

I have a 2002 (manufactured Oct/Nov of '01) X5 3.0!. I hate the Factory Nav system, and the CD changer was cool in like 1995.

Is there a set up that can be installed in my dash that elimintes the current POS Radio/cassete/Cd/... 8 trk tape player(JK) that came from the factory? I'm okay with changing the amp/s woofer/spkrs if I have to.

I propbably could do the work my self, i'm prett adept w a tool box... (famous last words)

I researched for weeks before making the decision and I went with the Pioneer Avic z110bt.

It fit perfectly, install was long but not overly difficult and the sound quality was much improved.

I'm thinking about making the jump too. Did the car lose anny functionality? If I am not mistaken, the radio and the instrument panel display are linked right? Did you lose the ability to calculate avg mph, trip mileage etc??
