What Navigation/sound system to get?
Forgive me if this is a abused topic.. Im ne to electronics. I have a 2002 (manufactured Oct/Nov of '01) X5 3.0!. I hate the Factory Nav system, and the CD changer was cool in like 1995. Is there a set up that can be installed in my dash that elimintes the current POS Radio/cassete/Cd/... 8 trk tape player(JK) that came from the factory? I'm okay with changing the amp/s woofer/spkrs if I have to. I propbably could do the work my self, i'm prett adept w a tool box... (famous last words) ![]() |

I researched for weeks before making the decision and I went with the Pioneer Avic z110bt.
Here is the thread http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...tall-pics.html It fit perfectly, install was long but not overly difficult and the sound quality was much improved. |

FE342185,
I'm thinking about making the jump too. Did the car lose anny functionality? If I am not mistaken, the radio and the instrument panel display are linked right? Did you lose the ability to calculate avg mph, trip mileage etc??
