Angry Icelink - aahhhh

Ok, I admit it, I'm useless!

Didn't have the time/skill to install my Icelink, so took it to some guys that are usually pretty good.

My set up is Nav, no DSP (yet!), with a CD changer.

I picked the car up, they had successfully fitted my Parrot bluetooth kit, but said that icelink only worked with the CD still attached. It does work, and I can skip between playlists, but no menu from pressing and holding 6 (you just hear the CD changing!).

So, I thought how difficult can it be. Took out the CD, unplugged the cables, it doesn't work.

Now obviously I need to plug these in somewhere, I assume, but where, and how?

I've looked through the articles list, but the install there is for no Nav, and DSP.

I can live with it for the moment, but I do need to get it sorted.

Any help much appreciated

Dave

dave--

what year X5?

to use an icelink, you must lose the CD changer . i don't understand how the two could coexist.

the only thing i could surmise is that you are manually sorting through playlists directly on the IPOD and its playing through the speakers somehow, but unless its hooked up to cables that the CD changer is normally connected, you don't have an icelink connection going....

those with icelinks (as I don't have an IPOD) as well as Tom will post shortly....

It's a 2004 UK spec.

The CD changer doesn't work, at least no sound from it. But if you disconnect the cables, the Icelink doesn't work either!

Being that you are overseas, I assume you are trying to install a radio end kit? This cannot co-exist with the Bluetooth (not to mention NAV) without rewiring.

If so - you have the incorect kit. You need a trunk interface kit that is not avaialable overseas, we have the correct items you will need.
