Hi,

I installed one in my '06 x5 NAV + DSP (DSP uses analog CD hookup these days so DSP makes no difference) about 2 weeks ago and it's been working VERY well. Be SURE to contact Tom G. for firmware version 2B2. My IceLink from best buy came with v2.07 and had to be upgraded - easy to do.

Installation took less than an hour - most time was spent removing the the CD changer and finding a way to mount the IceLink's dock - hooking up the connectors and actually getting it working took just a few minutes - no special tools required.

Mine is mounted in the space in the component rack above the GPS DVD drive using the supplied dock. The IceLink and it's cable harness sit in the void behind the CD changer - secured by cable ties.

ID3 text on the NAV and the [disc-6] menu work great. Mine sounds best with [Settings-EQ-Bass Reducer] ON.

I'll post some pics when I get home later.
- Rob

Installed mine a week ago and mounted it on the passenger side of the gear stick. Little bit of a pain threading the cables around the car but all in all took me about 2.5 hours.

As suggested contact Tom G for the latest firmware to make it work properly.

Before requesting firmware, let's find out what's on the ice>Link beforehand. Here are the procedures for determining your firmware version on your ice>Link Plus:

Turn the key to the on position and select your CD Changer. Once you are in this mode, plug in the iPod to the Active Cradle or Docking cable. During the warning screen, the firmware version can be spotted by looking at the number in the top right corner of the iPod.

iMPAKT: I responded to your PM, you already have the most current firmware, no need to update.
