DICE has a lot of static..HELP

Unfortunately my dice has had static from day 1. I didnt install it myself, it was a surprise bday gift from my parents, so i dont even know where the wires are located.

Can somebody help me out? On some songs it is very distracting because you can hear the static in the background. I checked the DIP settings, and they were all good.

I just did a search and came up with something about the wiring--could somebody explain this further? do you think my dice unit is bad?

Do you also hear engine whine while the song is paused? It could be interference, did you try using a Ground loop isolator? I have the same problem but unfortunately I still have static..

It seems the trunk cable may be picking up interference, I would have the X5 taken back to the installer and have the cable rerouted to rid of the interference.

If it cannot be eliminated, then a GLI can be used.

You can get one at most car audio websites like sonicelectronix.com or eas. I got mine from eas and im confident I hooked it up right, but the static still remains. The GLI's only gets rid of electrical interference, there is also magnetic interference, to get rid of that you have to wrap the wire with some type of material, not sure what it is though
