Upgrade DICE to play iPod Touch/iPhone?

I have a DICE unit previously installed in my 2004 X5 where I connected a 2nd Gen iPod Nano.

I now have a 2006 X5 and a few iPod Touches. Before I install everything, will the DICE unit work with iPod Touch and iPhone? Do I need a software update/flash on the DICE?

Is this a SILVERLINE or SILVERLINE PRO kit?

How would I know? I purchased the kit in 2006.

That would be a standard DICE kit (non SILVERLINE). You will need the updated docking cable in order to support 3GS charging.

Was most worried about playback and functionality vice charging. I have 1st and 2nd gen iPod touches. Will they play and charge?

Btw. Thanks for the swift replies.

Yes, both will charge with the updated docking cable.

It will play just fine, but the new docking cable will be neded in order to support the later iPod's charging requirements.

Hi Tom,

It's time to sell me the updated cable. I'd also like to enquire about upgrading the firmware on the module. Stand by for an email from me.

Kris
