"Engine Failsafe Prog" Check Control Warning

2004 X5 3.0, 57K miles. Got this check control warning msg. "ENGINE FAILSAFE PROG*" on dash. SAV runs fine, no other noticeable signs. Manual says Fault in engine electonics, can continue driving w/o overstressing engine, take to dealer.
Anyone had this warning? any suggestions?
Thanks!

Take it to the dealer...I had this on my X5. It was the CDV (?) motor that needed to be replaced
