Gats Ta Have Bluetooth

Pardon my ignorance, but I've read myself silly over this. I have an '01 X5 (09/00 prod date), with Nav (small screen I think), and I am trying to find out what my options are for bluetooth, and ipod integration. Thanks

You need a Dice MediaBridge + Bluetooth module ($45) + DSP module ($90). It will set you back $360 shipped.

DICE MediaBridge BMW iPod / iPhone / Satellite / Bluetooth / USB Integration Kit | BSW

You also have the option of adding all the factory OEM bluetooth components, something to the tune of $700+.

I only know all this because I was interested in adding this to my '02 w/ DSP.

Will this still work for me although I have the 4.9 navigation screen?

According to the website it works with all E53 X5s, so I don't see why not. Just make sure you get the DSP adapter since your screen clearly indicates you have DSP.

There is a note on the Dice website that says the only compatible radio is the 16.9. I think mine is the 4.9. You know what feature(s) I maybe that missing if it I try to install on a 4.9?

None. The 4:3 and 16:9 support the same number of characters on screen, and use the same iBus commands to place them around the screen.

I think what the compatibiltiy table, if you look at the patterns in it, is telling you is that Mediabridge does'nt support non-nav 5 series/ 7 series/X5's as they use a MID.

Best to ask here. Usually gets a response within a day.
