Need Switch 12V

Been searching for awhile, but can't seem to come up with correct terms to get me what I need. I am in the midst of a DICE/DSP install and need switched 12V source from the amp or around the the amp area in an '01 NAV/DSP X5. I tried, but the obvious wires I checked were constant 12v sources. Thanks in advance.

Some say there is a switched 12V at the FM amp. Use caution, make sure with a multimeter that the FM amp is not turned off when CD is selected on the HU.

Wow an FM amp? Multiple amps in the X? Can you tell or show me where the FM amp is? Thanks

Dunno about the X5. Somewhere near the window antenna, either side pillar or roof I'd guess. Google images or REALOEM.com should be able to help.

In other similar models, BMW uses a purple wire with a red stripe. I cannot get access to my wiring diagram software, so I can not verify for you. However, give that a look. Search for a wiring block of purple/red wires, possibly near the tail lights. Check it with a voltmeter, and you will be in business.
