I read this on our local BMW web site and I am interested to know if anyone has got this working and if so, with what model Blackberry.

BMW's got mail.

With in-car email.

Because time is more precious than ever, BMW is constantly looking for new ways to make your driving experience even more efficient.

This is why BMW has introduced in-car email functionality. This means for the first time ever, BMW drivers can access their email account inbox, contacts and calendar - directly from their car. You can choose from viewing incoming mail in the display screen, reading individual messages in the detailed view, or alternatively having them read out with optional voice control. This email feature is currently available exclusively with BlackBerry® smartphones.

The interesting thing is that if you the click the smartphone compatibility list, none of the blackberry's show email compatibility.

I think I'll skip that option. Not only do you not have a keyboard to type replies, I don't like getting emails when I'm in the office, let alone in my spare time.

What would be better would be a WiFi and Bluetooth hotspot using the SIM Access Profile in the phone and a juiced up 3G HSPA modem running from the car battery with an external antenna. Or just use Android Terminal Mode.
