As with most things these days, cost was a factor when I decided to choose the Grom adapter over the mediabridge. I purchased the IPOD/AUX version with the trunk cable as I have Nav/No-DSP. When I received it, the installation took maybe 2 minutes and most of that was locating the two cables that were needed. It played well from IPOD right away, but it had a lot of engine whine once I started the X. I chatted with them on their website and they knew right away that I needed a different cable to control the whine and it was immediately shipped to me. My only gripe is that if this is common with the trunk installs, why not ship that cable anyway?
With the new cable, I don't hear any whine while driving and the sound is much better than the tape adapter I was using. You can use the steering wheel controls also. The text display is ok-it displays the text. Sometimes the font is larger than others, so I haven't quite figured out how many characters it can display for that reason. You can use 4 playlists. The other 2 (#1 and #6) are used for IPOD local control and settings. I didn't get the bluetooth adapter they offer because they say it doesn't display any numbers, but it does have A2DP(?) so it can play music through bluetooth.
I'd have to say that for under $100, this is serving my needs well. If at some point I decide that I want more, I'll replace the entire head unit.
