Install Ipod video without TV Module

I'm looking to install an Ipod video interface without the TV module to my oem Mk4 sat Nav system.
Or a cheap way to install the TV module so it will work with digital freeview ?

The AV inputs and source switching features are on the TV module. With digital switchover an analogue TV module should be about £60 and the TV retrofit cable is about £35 new.

The only other option (a bodge that requires some serious wiring and PCB making skills) would be to throw the RGB line from the nav to a freeview tuner. You'd need one that could do HVGA and Sync on green native resolution to match the monitor. You would not be able to view the vehicle menus in that configuration since they are generated by the nav drive.

Thanks
I've found this module that you can hook up to your mk4 nav even if you don't the factory tv. ToysInYourCar.com - 3 / 5 / X3 / X5 AV Interface (nav but NO TV)

Pricey at £325

I have seen some factory tv module with cable but really expensive too at Best Sellers BMW (& Range Rover) TV Video Module Kit
+ $25 for video in motion= £377

Anywhere cheaper?

In my mk4 satnav manual it says that the BMW TV module is digital and has the epg?

Do you have a television option in your menu?

OK so the manual can be ignored, obviolusy you've taken the time to make sure you have an empty space waiting for a TV module and not a faulty module.

61120144096 is the TV retrofit harness number. It's jumped from £35 to £72 at cooperbmwparts in the last year. You may find Schmiedmann - Styling/Tuning/Spare parts for BMW - New parts has it at the old price, but shipping tax at 25% is an issue.

A used TV module will be about the same again. So £140 and then a few MQS pins to make an AV in. Note the AV in is mono.
