NEED HELP FROM MEMBERS!!!!

ok, so I am a little confused on some info that I am getting from a local stereo shop and want to c what people on here think? I have an 03 x5 4.6 with Nav... 6 mo ago my cd changer stopped working..even though i really dont want to use cds anymore anyway it was better then the radio..Just fm radio right now sux!! so i went to a shop to get priced for a double din, with obviously bluetooth, ipod and nav..and then was gonna change my highs throughout the car...so they told me they were gonna do some research and find what would work best with my car and we would take it from there...And i do appreciate that there professional and take the time to research and see what things will work and wont, bc i no plenty of shops that will just give u an appt. and start tearing your shit apart blind! so they did what they said they would do and got back to me and there telling me that they cannot instal an aftermarket double din in my model bc the brain of the car for many other functions runs thru the factory radio.. so if u pull it out bc of the CAN system the car can start having major issues like maybe not even starting, dash lights on, no pw, pl, etc...now, they said there is always a way..and of course there is if u want to take a second mortgage out and they can hide the factory radio somewhere in the dash and make a black box for it and what not so the car still reads it..but I am not trying to go crazy like that!!! I mean there talking like 10k... Idn i just find the info there giving me kind of strange bc I c people on this forum all the time with aftemarket head units.. sorry such a long post, but please give me some feed back..i need something else besides the radio!!!!!

Why not install an iPod interface? The Intravee works great with nav and is a fraction of what you are looking at cost wise.

Full control through both the factory radio and steering wheel buttons.
