Radio defaults to white noise.

This has to be something simple but it's got me stumped

Whenever the car is started it defaults to an untuned FM radio.

I've got stations saved in positions 1-6 but when I first start the car I have to select one of them or the CD.

I cant remember on my last X5, but if the CD was playing when I got out of the car last time, should it resume playing from the same track? In my case it just jumps back to that annoying untuned white nose.

Any suggestions guys?
