ice link no longer charging my ipod

I have tried now in vain to figure out why my icelink no longer charges my 4th gen 20gb Ipod? The system was working fine and the only change I have made was to upgrade the Ipod firmware to V3.1

I have made sure play is selected in the setup menu for charge option and it will not charge.

BTW anyone know the most current firmware for my icelink? I have a MY2005 X5 with Nav and DSP. The current firmware on the icelink is v2d.b2

Thanks

Latest firmware that I am aware of for nav is v2-2B2.

Tom G. can get you the latest firmware download, and I'm sure he can help with the charging issue as well.

yes on the current firmware.

On the other issue, is it getting cold in the evening where you live? I have had consistant issues with the icelink either charging my iPod, and or working at all, and I am certain that when things get really cold and more importantly the iPod gets cold, bad crap happens. Just a thought. I've started bringing everything in at night and taking it back out in the morning. A bit of a pain in the but, at least it's only during the winter though.

You know what it has been cold of late. I live in Vancouver, BC and it normally doesn't get below zero, but I noticed it was -1.5 celsius last night. That might expalin the ipod, but I also tried a Nona that had been indoors and that also did not charge.

Now I know something is wrong with my icelink. Not only does it not charge, I have lsot my song display in the Nav screen and I can access the controls on the ipod while docked in the icelink.

Anyone have any ideas?

I would first try to update the unit to the latest firmware. If that doesn't solve the problem then I would contact Dension about a warranty exchange.

Warranty exchange, it's fried now. This is exactly what happened to me, it just stopped displaying anything, and I lost power to my head unit and my instrument cluster until the icelink was disconnected. You'll get a new one and it will work just fine. Make sure to not leave the iPod out in the cold though.
