HELP PLEASE!!! 12v Switched Wire for DVD Headrests

I'm trying to install non OEM dvd headrests and test ran all of the monitor connections and they both work good.

I am however having difficulty finding a 12v switched source wire by the center console area. A wire that only gets power once the key is turned either in "accessories" or ignition on and turns off when the key is out.

So far all I've found are constant power leads (i.e. cigarette lighter wire) that are on regardless of key in or out.

Using a lighted test probe, I've poked at just about all of the wire bundles in the center console are (i.e. cig.lighter, rear seat heaters, etc.) and have yet to land one.


I understand the universal 12v remote turn on wire is purple with white stripe:

1. Will this work for what I need?
2. Does this run through the center console area?

I've also ran into info mentioning the ambient light by the ash tray. Is this enough though?

Also found info on the flashlight port in the glove box but I need the socket adapter to turn it into a 12v switched? How do I connect the power wire for the dvd system to that socket then?

Can someone please help me out? I have an '06 4.8IS
