New guy question....subwoofer?

I just bought a 2001 BMW x5 3.0i. It appears to be standard, pretty much everything. No nav, no dsp, no changer. I found the amp, but not the subwoofer. My question to the experts here are: assuming it had a sub, where would it be located? Two, has anyone hooked a aftermarket sub to the current amp? I'm not looking for a big boom, but something to even out the sound.

The sub is on right side when you open the tail gate.

Check this thread for aftermarket /DIY sub installations.http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...-included.html

There are several other threads in this forum for aftermarket sub, amp, etc.

If its non dsp, it didn't come with a sub. There are probably 10 threads of people who have added one to the factory system. It's not that difficult if you know what you're doing.

If it has a button on the radio, its DSP. If not, it isn't and didn't come with a sub....
