The "new" clean sweep is only an external module for the original clean sweep. It allows speaker level channel summing like the AudioControl LC8.

If you do what I've documented doing (with the help of others) you don't need it, or the clean sweep, or an LC8. HU output is flat as a pancakke above like 35% on the volume control and that curve is simply a mild auto-loudness Fletcher Munson curve that is not even detectable when driving.

If you want an aftermarket HU for features, fine... but from an SQ perspective, the OEM HU can sound very good when properly interfaced... and that interface can cost less than $400 and not take up nearly the amount of room the CS will.

The W7 will definitely come out a ways and the W6 would probably not fit either.

Is this written up somewhere or just doing a search on your posts will pull it up? I"d like to read up on it. I've been doing all the reading I can to get as much info as possible before making any decisions. I used the NAV for the 1st time the other night and was very happy that I didnt get lost! Yea, on the sub, I was hoping for the 10, but think an 8 will have to do.

As long as I can have a DVD player for my DVD audio discs, and Sirius radio, I'll be a happy camper. Having DVD upfront would really be a plus too...maybe going the single Alpine player route?
