Does anybody from Germany already did the update successfully?

Regards from Germany.
The languages are coded into the system (and can only be changed by your dealer) so an update of the Navigation OS should not change them.

I did a successful installation here in Australia and I still have the same language options (English, Deutch, Francais)

One other nice touch (I'm yet to drive with it!):
- When you switch from 'Direction of Travel' to 'Perspective' view the map tilts and the car icon fades out and then changes. It looks great!
- Still having the same redraw glitches with screen refreshes but this is a problem I've had (and a few others) since v26 so it is no worse. I suspect the 'official' release may address these issues.

Thanks again Jeff.

Looks like there will be no official version with perspective view, BMW has stopped developing it. That was mentioned in a German BMW board by a betatester of the software. Read/translate Chaplin's messages:

Loading this beta release appears to put the nav drive into Euro mode (no accept screen, units in yards rather than feet)
So I would assume that this Euro mode will not interfere with the tuner USA AREA and thus with the OEM Sirius tuner. Can somebody with Sirius can check its functionality with this Beta version?

Thanks

This has no impact on the radio tuner. It will remain in USA mode if that's what it is currently configured for.

I just loaded it on my UK Rover 75 Nice not to have the BMW welcome screen anymore at least the version number is a bit more non descript!

After the upgrade mine came up in German

I tried it at 2.5miles and there is a a town in the distance that is off the screen with the top down view

I like the clouds!

You are right, Martin... I just downloaded the beta, tested it with the Sirius, ice>Link, and the Bluetooth and everything works fine. The Telephone option was slow to appear in the menu but it came after some 30 seconds.

The bird's eye view is a great Nav improvement although as stated before the side streets are missing, but I do not think that this view is intended primarily for urban areas anyway. This is a very useful option in the Interstate, where you can see far away in front and sides -for example- the next service station or the exits without changing the scale. In fact, when I selected for the first time this view the Nav showed the closest Mall pretty nicely a couple of miles from where I am parked, something that I could not see before with the Map view at the same scale.

I only hope that this beta is stable in the long run. Thanks X5World!

In Europe this is TMC (Traffic Message Channel) and broadcasted on top of the radio-signal. With TMC the nav-system is told about traffic-jams and/or closed roads et on the planned route. You are prompted and can decide to be rerouted. Very NICE feature!

Cheers
