Nav & Dealership
Have any of you guyz heard of such a thing? Also does it void the warranty if I retrofit a nav system.

1) they won't do it because its too expensive and not worth the trouble. also, since it involves running harnesses, etc, they do not want to take and time and responsibility to do so.
2) it only voids the warranty if you do something that damages something else. for instance, damaging another component while installing it, would void the warranty on the component already in the car. 3) there is an official retrofit kit from bmw. see http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...formation.html and http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...system-x5.html but no dealer i know would undertake such a job..... good luck! |

I bet they dont do it because they dont make much money off it. Dealers would rather spend their time doing brake jobs and oil changes and keep the cash flowing rather than jobs that require cars to stay in the shop for longer than a few days.

I've heard the same thing with BMW's and M3's. I almost bought a 2005 ZCP M3, but its only fault was that it was lacking Nav. I asked about retrofitting it, and they said the same thing. I opted to buy a non ZCP M3 with nav instead (less headaches).
