All the voice packs options are contained on the V26 disk. The ones that are loaded to your vehicle itself are based on how your particular vehicle is coded.
There is a way to get around this by renaming files on the V26 disk to trick the system. I'll see if I can find the post that describes how to do this.

I would say that you can just rename the files to your liking.
for example in the MKIV use the following path \V_2\Voices\0506 Change the usa_f.csf to what you want. for example gb_f.csf to usa_f.csf and vice versa. That would be easier than modifying the voice.lst file and the voice.lst file checksum Here are the choices Male and female of both D german E Spanish F French gb British i Italina nl not sure rus Rusian I assume usa us english Last edited by ambishop; 02-19-2006 at 11:27 PM. |

Changing the Nav voice is a bit fiddly. I did it with V25. I changed the female USA voice to the female UK voice. I'm originally from the UK .. so this is what prompted me to do the switch in the first place .....
I followed the instructions here (its for the mini, but its pretty much the same as the BMW I-Bus NAV system). http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ad.php?t=35168 But I notice for V25 at least the file structure was a bit different. These were the changes I made: Follow his instructions but note the following. So navigate to the V_2/Voices/0502 rename usa_f.csf to usa_f.bak rename gb_f.csf to usa_f.csf V_2/language/0103 rename usa4f.tsf to usa4f.bak rename gb4f.tsf to usa4f.tsf AND V_2/language/0105 rename usa4f.tsf to usa4f.bak rename gb4f.tsf to usa4f.tsf I've have loaded V26, but not looked at the structure yet, so it may have changed again. I should point out that for V25, in the end, I switched back to the USA voice, as I found the UK voice although fun didn't always prompt you at the correct time ... and just seem weird at times. If you would like to leave the language the same, although the voice changed, I wonder if you would just do the spoken voices changes and not the written language changes.

For anyone that wants to have a go at cracking these files....
I beleive they are a variation on the ADPCM format, rate 16000..well I can recognise the voice when played using this format. ...well its a start! |
