i successfully installed v26 w/ perspective and updated splash
screen last night. thanks again for the wonderful write-up!

my question is -

upon downgrading to v24 and then attempting to upgrade to
v26 (hacked), it failed. i then tried to install v26 (original)
and that too failed. at this point, i became quite concerned.
i also figured, what other damage could i possibly do; so, i attmepted
to install v26.09A. wouldn't u know it, that worked.
after at least getting something working, i decided to burn another
v26 (hacked) image. once complete, i inserted the newly hacked
image and the install was successful. any clue as to why
my original v26 or my orignal hacked v26 would not work? my
original v26 is what i used to upgrade months ago when it was
1st released. i did notice that when i burned them at work, the
slowest speed was 10x. at home, i was able to burn at 6x.
