It's the same for me!
It seems that in prospective mode it's not possible to chose pointing north.
I also tried to select pointing north (and it comes in 2D p.n.) then selecting prospective it change in car direction.
I'm wishing that on the final version it will be possible to chose the 2
method for prospectiove view. That's why the refresh of the map,
both in 2D and Prospective mode, it's a little bit slow!
