Hi, I have a quick question. I was trying to edit the image (to put a picture of my son, car, wife, and a nice background image for my start screen) using the v27 SW. I tried to follow these steps that were listed (granted they are for V26.09a):
Steps: 1. Obtain correct Navigation CD image of S/W version (ie V26.09aNote: this version could be bad for your unit, V26, V25, etc...) 2. Load image onto PC 3. Locate "navboot" file. Usually located in \V_2\RR\0101\BMWC01S\app_sw\ 4. Copy "navboot" to hard drive on PC 5. Using GifExtractor load "navboot" by clicking "Find" button 6. Once loaded, click "extract" 7. Now in the "found images" box highlight the first entry and using cursor scroll down to the image that you will change. Located at HEX address [b1f418] it's the fourth one down. However, when I load the navboot file, there is not a [b1f418] address and when I scroll through the image previews, the splash screen we are used to do is not there. Can you tell me where I can find that image in the v27 software? I checked all of the navboot files on there and none of them seem to have it Thanks! Chad

Interesting...
Thanks for posting that back. It is weird, because, that one file is missing from mine. I forgot to mention that I am actually using the Custom X5World V27 image, but I would assume that that gif file / HEX reference should still be there?
I have attached the image of what I see. Thanks so much for your help. Chad |

Also, I am downloading the standard version of V27 OS now. I am sure the file is in that one, I am just not aware of the changes to the Custom V27 OS which may have changed that file.
Thanks, Chad |

BTW, the file was in fact in the standard (not custom) V27 OS.
Thanks for your help! Chad |

Hello, I have a question, I have updated the software of my MKIV to the standard version v27, and want to put splash logo custom X5World v27, because when I put the CD custom v27 does not update, because previously v27 installs the standard version, so the logo is the standard one of BMW.
As I can change my spash logo by the one of X5world custom? Thanks and greetings |

If you have already done the update to V27 then the only way to do this is to first downgrade to an older version (such as V26) and then update back to the custom V27.
Be sure you understand the pros and cons of doing the downgrade before proceeding. :xoutpost:
