Let's do the math. He likely bought the complete 8-disk set for $225 (including tax and shipping). If he is able to sell the 7 disks that he doesn't need for $80 a piece then his net profit is $335 and he gets to keep the disk he needs. Sounds to me like the deal favors him, not you.
On the other hand, if you went to Navteq and wanted to buy just the single disk from them, this is less than you would pay them for it. So from that perspective, it doesn't sound too bad. Note that Navteq prohibits people from reselling individual disks that were bought in a set but, right or wrong, they do it all the time. It's your call whether the $80 price is the right way to go.

Why can't I buy 2005.2 DVD from NavTeq? It gives me a phone number and asks me to call my dealer.
I would rather just point and click to buy it online. Further, how will I be able to find out if my new streets are on the new DVD? |
