The only thing left to try is the NAV MK IV. According to Martin at BMWNAV, he suggests that the Firmware inside the MK IV has to be 3.0 or higher for Sirius to function correctly. Perhaps thats the problem. After all, you've changed pretty much everything else !

65.90-6 920 182 SW1.2
65.90-6 920 713 SW2.0 (and SW3.0 ?)
65.90-6 942 908 SW2.0 & SW2.1
65.90-6 942 910 SW ?
65.90-6 942 908-03 SW3.0

Nope, I have an 02/2002 production 325xiT which had the second week ever of MK IV production, and my Sirius tuner came up on the NAV screeen fine once I replaced the BM53 radio.

The other idea that does not seem to be explored too much is a bogus Sirius receiver. I talked with one guy for hours while we debugged his system and the fuse holder turned out to be jacked up on the sirius receiver.

I have used a number of radios in my installs and helping others to get Sirius and have not had any problems as long as it was made after the change over date, you should be set to go.

A related issue is that the original batch of Sirius receivers had different part numbers for NAV and non-NAV cars, and wouldn't work in the opposite type (these are the receivers with 2 antenna connectors). The newer one-connector receiver works with both NAV and non-NAV cars.

Well lets get that receiver out of there and check the part number !!

From what I could digg up for you, there were two part numbers floating around for Sirius receivers with the two antenna input.

84-11-0-141-981 This first part # was reported not to work with NAV cars and was for in-dash radios only.
84-11-0-153-365 This second number was the receiver to work with NAV cars ... although it appeared also to work with Non-NAV cars (?) ... so go figure.

If you have the first part number, then this could be it !

Sounds like the mystery may be coming to an end !

Circlebmw have very competitive pricing with their Sirius Receivers ... so you might want to check that out for your new receiver. The latest sirius receiver 65 12 0 398 140 will work with both NAV and Non-Nav cars.

You should have no prob selling your current receiver .... just make sure folks know it compatible with the in-dash CD player only (from 10/2002) and it will work with certainly E46, E53, and E39)
