Acutally, better than the options I posted above, Wuzin used a different/new method for displaying video on the nav screen. He used ilink + vsm (video source module) from EAS. With this he's able to display movies/video, music, photos, etc from his ipod. It's a lot easier and cleaner of install than messing around with a dvd player etc. Take a look: http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...installed.html

Yes Yes, you will need a separate DVD player.
Most folks add the TV module, because that is the cheapest way, if you buy a used one from eBay. However, you can add an aftermarket standard video input adapter that would accept the output from your DVD player and show it on the nav screen. i like that, i am guessing you add that plus a dvd player and its all set. would i lose anything? or is this just an add on. i have icelink-plus so lost the cd player no big deal this looks a good option is it plug and play?

This is an add-on that the system was factory designed to handle. These other modules are just alternatives to the factory TV/Video module. You do not lose a thing.
