I would recommend that you send a PM or contact King (Arvi) or JPuma (Joe Puma), as both have successfully done a nav retrofit. It sounds to me like there's still a connection missing that is not transmitting the data from the wheel sensor (for inertial guideance during times when GPS data is unavailable) to the nav computer.

Hi, i had the same problem after installation of the navigation system with mk4 in my 525i E39. There was fault in the cabel pointing to the navigation computer. The wire in this plug was in the wrong place (original shipped from BMW).
Good luck |

Yeh I heard about that. But the thing was I heard it only effected the retrofit cable. I didn't use the retrofit cable. I swapped out my original harness and added one from a car with navigation. Thats why i'm troubled about what is going on.

There was a manufacturing problem in 10's or 100's of these harnesses so it is quite possible that these have been fitted at the factory and people just haven't noticed! |

Great! I'll check that out. I never looked because I thought it only affected the retrofit harness.

Its probably at Pin 11 on the maroon connector (the one on the top) and it should be in Pin 10.

Mine Has 0 Wheel Speed Sensor Too!!!
whilst testing out the v27 upgrade this afternoon i noticed that the wheel speed sensor was showing 0 all the time.
i did a nav retofit a few months ago and part of the install meant i had to run a wire from the nav harness to behind the instrument cluster and splice into pin 19 on the black connector (usually its pin 1 of the blue connector but mine only has low obc) and i also had to run a wire to pin 38 of the light module to get a reversing signal. now i know the reversing signal works ok as the direction of travel changes properly but its the speed sensor thats bugging me as i'm 100% sure i did it right. you guys have been talking about the actual harness being at fault, is there any way of checking if this is the case with mine??? i used the harness from retrofit kit part number 65900303579 in a 2001 e39. thanks for any help given. |

Pin 11 on the bordeaux needs to be moved
I had the same problem, I did the retrofit nav a few months ago and it was showing 0 under the wheel sensor. Over the weekend a I reloacated pin11 wire ( brown wire with the red stripe) to position No10 and now it shows wheel sensor ( number increases as the speed goes up). Search the forum and you will find instructions how to do it. Look under articles/ navigation retrofit addendum information. We are talking about the bordeaux connector that plugs into the back of your mk4 dvd drive.
