Is it a CD player or a mini-disk player?
I read a long time ago of someone that attempted this and was never able to get the MD player to work. Post some pics, if you can.

Thats not an X5!Looks more like the interior of an E46!A friend mine recently bought an E46 16.9 monitor with cd to fit in his X5(against my advice!)and he cant fit it,so now he is stuck with it,the smart ass!!!
If yours is an E46,and you had tape before, your monitor may have to be "coded" by the dealer.....Good luck and please lets us know how you get on. |

Definately an e46 (3 series). Two suggestions.
1. Try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and then connecting it back up. This can trigger the vehicle to "rediscover" the components installed and may make it realize you have the CD player now and not the tape player. 2. As suggested above, have the vehicle recoded at the dealer. and :xoutpost:

Cd behind screen not working
Hi
On other BMW's the CD behind Nav screen is only recognised if you have the BM54 New Generation radio fitted, if you have the BM24 fitted then you get the message "no tape" even though you have a cd fitted. Hope this helps as i had the same problem and had to buy the BM54 to get the cd working. |
