My latest work:










As the nav unit will put the image side by side to be able to rotate the background with the map, all pics I made are fully horizontal cascadable so that there is no junction visible.

Have fun with it

I thought about an really awesome feature and I'm sure it could be realized, but only by BMW an not us:

Via GSM connection it checks the weather of your destination and then displays the equavalent horizon image (sunny, cloudy, raining, ...)

breme330xi, it's not that easy removing the mountains of that image still let it still look realistic.

but: have a look on this site:
http://www.cadtutor.net/download/raster/sky_01.php
there are 4 pages with different sky images.
or try http://images.google.com/ looking for a sky picture that you like.

Then, send me the link to the .jpg and I will create your personal horizon image for the BMW satnav for you.

As we've got a lot of mountains around here in Austria, I just flashed my nav with the mountain image and like it a lot. It really looks like as I look out of my windshield

Oh man - I love playing around with such things !
