Hello everyone,
I have been using x outpost to help me modify about everything on my 04 X3.
But I only discovered the forums about 3 days ago accidentally. I had no intention of modifying anything on my car. But I stumbled upon the navigation posts. After reading all the posts on navtweek, night mode, and v32 I modified my navi. I am writing this post to say thank you to all posters for making a friendly informative community and to show how the information was used.
Also to maybe help someone in the future.

First day I installed v32 from whatever was on the 04, 4-1/24 i think. And activated perspective mode. Which is honestly the only thing I thought was missing on the navi when i changed from a $100 plug in one.
Perspective mode is activated at the bottom of the following menu which is opened by holding menu when in settings for 10 seconds, just restating for anyone who is wondering as this seemed to be a very common question.

Afterwhich while viewing the map select perspective under point of view.
Everyone should know what it looks like so I won't post a pic of a standard perspective map.

After obtaining many poi icons, pointer icons, splash screens, and reading 200 pages of posts for ideas. I began modifying the navboot and photoshopping a splash screen. After spending about 6 hours editing 7 photo's together and rotating the 2d and 3d pointers I burned my first OS mod onto an RW which did not take. The RW was a memorex high speed so the slowest it could do was 10x and the fastest was 12x so not much of a choice there. I changed the iso to mode 2 and tried again and that also did not take. I then took the v32 iso and just switched out the navboot and .tbl files. And that took up until the "this will take 6min do not turn off your ignition" screen. which remained on for 10 min and then I tried to eject the disc and turned off the car.

I tried everything I could but the disc would not come out and whenever I turned on the car I would see that screen which I am labeling the blue screen of death for the bmw.

Scared out of my mind that I actually screwed my mk4 because i was forced to turn off my ignition. I panicked. And joined this forum for advise. But apparently I can't post instantly. After obtaining a very small torx I disassembled the nav lifted the motor and ejected the disk manually. That was a wonderful feeling.

After hooking back up the nav my system had only black screen so it apparently had no os. I cracked the rw disk 3 different ways and tossed it. It was already scratched from trying to get it out manually.

I burned on another rw disk the same mod but without replacing .tbl files as i
was not worried about an os increase. This worked perfectly within 3 min I had v32 with all my mods. I assumed then that the other disc had either a problem with my hex editing of the .tbl files or the previous deletes on the disc screwed the process.

Well here is the end result.
Splash screen combined from 4 images on the splash forum, 2 personal photos ,which i censored if you are wondering what the scribbles are, and 2 hours modifying the BMW logo.


Accept Screen, The words were taken from a picture on the splash screen forum which I thought were funny although could possibly be reworded better.


In the settings menu I only changed color set to Day / Night as i used the night mode files provided by ccfj1


I changed the pointers in 2d mode, using the vertical pointer provided by someone. I rotated it for every angle just in case for some reason someone will want it to point north.


For perspective i added two more angles to the angel wings

All of these are in the night mode color set from ccfj1 which i did not modify.
I like the sky as it matches the night mode and did not want to make another and i like that there is no orange around the selections. I also did not want to do guess and check on changing the colors.

This is a temp server file so if anyone wants to repost it elsewhere feel free.
It includes all the 2d pointers as metallic and 5 perspective pointers with removed fronts as those are the only angles i've noticed the car to use.

Hope you guys like the mod. I am open to all suggestions for my second mod and any friendly criticism on this one. Last thing left for me to upgrade is a backup camera so my wife can drive the car. If anyone has as any suggestions please let me know.

Lastly I also downloaded the 2009.1 map from a link on a post and noticed that it no longer offers general destinations as a choice in information.

I was wondering if anyone would know why this is? If it is an os change or a map disk change or niether?
