X3 I-BUS connection - cable color/pinout help

I've already received the Reslers's I-BUS kit, but now I don't know where to connect it.

We have a recent X3 with the Professional Navigation, Bluetooth and Voice Recognition modules on the trunk - so three cables easily accessible:


Where can I get a pinout list of those there modules, or maybe a list with the cable colour codes?

Hello,

The better way is to use the CD-Changer connector

You will have the 3 wires that Reslers's I-Bus kit need.

12V
GROUND
I-BUS (white/yellow + red ligne)

you'll have two connectors with the CD-changer.
Take only the connector with 3 wires.
The connector with four wires is for audio OUT.

The problem is that I have no CD changer nor any TV module. I can worry with the PC video signal issue later, as it looks more complicated.

For now I just want to connect the I-Bus kit to between the X3 and my Powerbook laptop and readout/inject signals to test the kit and see what is broadcasted in the bus.

Getting the +12 and ground should be easy. I guess I can assume that the white/yellow with red line is the expected I-bus.

I need to take better pics from the back of the trunk, with a better focus on the color cables over there. I'd rather connect to the Bluetooth module than the navigation (at the first stage), because I don't use the bluetooth module that much (work at a telco, devices are too buggy or too new to work with the car) and I'd rather not "reset" the navi for now.

Even if I have no cd-changer, would I get any cable connection on the middle console or at the back? Probably not, right?

Even without the CD Changer you will have the wires for it. The wires will be in a small bundle wrapped in foam to stop them rattling. Not sure where the CD Changer goes in an X3, but they will be within a few inches of it.
