I also get the distance to the junction in v27. I haven't updated to v28 as there's no new features and I don't want to risk losing the Assist yet (I don't use it, but nonetheless).

What do you mean with "set to show remaining range" ? I don't recall an option like that...

OK thanks - it may have been activated after my retrofit was coded.

Remaining range is the computer stalk option to show miles left on current fuel based on consumption (as opposed to time, temp etc).

Davipt - whilst we're on the subject of X3 nav features , do you see the "dynamic routing" options as well as fastest, shortest etc. This seems to work with V27/28 on X5's but not on my X3. Wondered if I was alone in not having this feature. TMC works ok in UK.

Thanks

When following directions (dest guide), the display at the bottom of the speedo displays the yards to next junction / intersection as I approach : 250, 200, 100, 80, 70 etc etc mirroring the info in the CID. This appears to work only when the computer is set to show remaining range on the clock display. No units (Uk would be yards) are displayed.

This is a useful feature on the X3 when the flip up monitor is stowed / off but dest guidance is active.

Anyone else seen this - was it always there but missed ?
Interesting as the the satellite & software used by Navteq (licenced by BMW) is only guaranteed to an accuracy of 10 metres (39 feet). When I reach a junction my satnav invariably displays a further 100 yds to go! Thats fine on country roads but when in a town/city it becomes hilarious for the driver behind me! - Brake lights - No -Yes-No-Yes-YeSSSSS- suddenly indicate & turn .

Check that your Wheel Sensor is working OK. You do this in the service menu. Wheel Sensor should increase with speed. If it doesn't it MAY be a wiring fault in the multi-plug to the Navicomp. I had this on my E46 and it took the dealer months to resolve & only after I had provided a load of info from one of the US forums & they had logged a PUMA case to BMW.
