Navcoder Timeout
I tried setting the time-out to higher values (1200) but it still gave me a time-out. I can see the commands being sent on the log window. Can someone shed any light? |

If you can see the commands sent by NavCoder then the interface is working in terms of the echoing the Tx commands back to the PC. The issue will be with the ibus connection to the car.
Check that you are conecting to the ibus properly - can you see the car's ibus data traffic? When the ignition is on, you should observe a continual stream of ibus traffic on NavCoder. If not, check your power, gnd and ibus connections (especially ibus) to the vehicle |

I've done a scan on all nav/radio modules and it show my nav-computer, the radio module and the monitor.
Setting the ignition key to 1 gives a lot of data. All kind of status request and data transfers. If I read settings from the navcomputer it tells me it's coded to a E39 and the languages GB and FR. As far as I can tell it's reading data from the Ibus. Coding the navigation gives a few entries in the log window. This is in my log. 21-4-2007 20:19:25: Original settings read from nav = 00 FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 01 21-4-2007 20:19:25: New settings written to nav = 00 FF FF FF 07 06 01 21-4-2007 20:19:32: Code Nav Settings - Error when coding nav with new settings: Timeout (no response) |

1. What version NavCoder are you using 2. What is the nav software version fitted to your car? (eg: 3/1-63) I think what you are seeing is NavCoder sending ibus commands that are not supported by your nav unit. NavCoder has been tested on Mk3 nav 3/1-63 and Mk4 4/1-91 and 4/1-80, and works fine. It is possible that older versions of nav units do not support all of the commands used by NavCoder - only trial and error will reveal if this is the case! Please klet me know what happens, and send me an email (or PM) for quicker communication and diagnosis of this problem. |
