hello all,
I have a 2004 X5 and my nav system displays a totally incorrect current location from time to time (it's happening about twice a week now). It completely loses itself and displays a location that's totally not anywhere near where I'm at. Recently, I was using the nav system to direct me somewhere and all was fine and then it lost itself and, of course, started to give me erroneous directions because it thought it was somewhere else than where I actually was! This happened twice and it is has really gotten me upset! The problem only started to happen about October 2006; prior to that, I've had no problems. Last month I took it into the dealer and, of course, they could not replicate the problem, so they upgraded the software (from v3 to v4), thinking that it was going to solve the problem. Well, that didn't do it and it is still happening. I'm having to take it back to have them replace the unit or antenna or something, because this certainly is not normal. Has anyone else heard of this problem? Also, one other important question: On the GPS map screen, where the globe icon is displayed in the upper-right corner, sometimes for me it is just the globe and other times it is the globe with the letters "GPS" written on it. Most of the time is just the globe by itself. Is this normal or it is supposed to be the opposite (i.e., always with the "GPS" written on it)? Thanks, Nuspieds |
