question about X5 16:9 vs. M5 16:9 screens
Anyway, the display doesn't look too great. it seems like it's at the wrong angle. If i flip the screen down (like to access the tape player), about 3/4 of the way through flipping, it looks great. Is this what I would experience if I had a screen meant for an X5 vs. my M5? As of now, my MKIV is coded for a UK 7-series, but i don't see how that would have much to do with it. Any thoughts? thanks... josh |

As you discovered, the screens are tweeked for the appropriate angle as seen from the driver's station. While the M5 screen will work in the X5, the screen clarity is not as good as it will be if you install one that was originally intended for an X5. I had this same issue, but fortunately I came across someone that had retrofitted an X5 screen in his 5 series and we swapped screen units. We were both much happier after the swap, it made a big difference for both of us.
