no GPS position with MKIV upgrade

all, I recently upgraded my MKII to an MKIV which was coded for a monochrome screen. Thanks to Jochen and cato.boss I got the MKIV coded for a color screen and my nav screen is now working.

Right now, the computer thinks it in a "7er" car instead of my M5. i have no GPS position in the "hidden menu" of my nav and there are no green dots in the upper right hand corner of my screen. I've checked the mini-coax going to the MKIV and that is plugged in fine.

Could my MKIV issues be due to it not being coded for my car? Could that cause no GPS positioning?

I'm re-coding the car later this week as soon as my cable shows up, but I thought i would explore other possibilities until then.

Thanks in advance for any help... josh

Hi, the issue is not coding related.

Go into the service menu and see what your current GPS status is. You'll need to park in in the clear, with your boot closed, for a good 15min (switched on) to update the almanac. But check you are receiving satellites first, then wait for an almanac update.
