Bmw Navigation in RR

HI,
I've been searching everywhere on the internet for navigation software for my range rover which uses the bmw mark 3 navigation computer and a bmw 16:9 Nav Screen...
Eventually, I attempted to install the v24 software which i got on the internet which had no effect, Its said something like, "wrong cd, Please insert the proper cd and try again", Afterwords i tried the cd in a 323 and it worked perfectly, so its not the cd anyways...

Could someone please assist me in finding the appropriate software for the navigation system, as i'm really sick of the current software...As there is no split screen...

The Range Rover mk3 has it's own nav operating system software, which is not compatible with the BMW nav OS. Since BMW sold its interest in RR to Ford, it's doubtful that you will see any development effort forthcoming to improve the operating system for the RR.

Ok, thats quite bad news, Do you think the dealers even have the system to perform these upgrades, or am i just stuck with a good car with bad navigation system now,

And this also rules me out of upgrading to the make iv navigation computer, Or can i stick one in out of a bimmer and hope for the best...

Thanks

I have read on the Yahoo bmwnav group of people that have successfully replaced their RR mk3 with a BMW mk4. They did report, though, that you will lose your OFF ROAD NAVIGATION option.

I tried swapping my DVD nav drive with my friends CD nav drive in his Rover and they both worked fine. The only thing is, if you upgrade your Rover drive to the BMW DVD drive, it will look and act just like it does in the BMW. For example, it will say BMW when you open the doors, has female american voice, etc. And yes you lose your off-road nav function, but most people probably never use that anyway.

Cool, Looks like i'm going to get a bmw dvd navigation computer, the connectors are indential no cutting of wires etc,

I don't use the offroad navigation system, to be honest i don't think many people would anyways...Its a great way of destroying a nice car...

Anybody know of a website i can get a brand new one of these units for a reasnoble prices, ie less than 1000 dollars

Thanks

Sean has a post with them on a group-buy for around $750. See http://www.xoutpost.com/showthread.php?t=2067
