Looking to run the nav harness first, help needed please

I have a 2004 x5 and I have no harness in place for the nav. Id like to try and obtain the correct cable and run it ready, then keep my eye on a bargain for the comp and screen.

Can anyone tell me what harnes is required? I have looked at the article located at: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...system-x5.html and see the harness code in the parts list, is this the harness required?

Any help would be great as I dont want to start running the wrong harness lol

Thanks if you can provide some information.

Kind regards, JJ

What i do know is that the retrofit nav loom is definately not the same as the factory fitted loom for nav so dont buy that one there is a specific retro nav loom available ,I have looked long and hard at fitting nav to my 2004 best price iv found is £1600 fitted with dvd loom all latest software 16.9 screen ,does that sound reasonable ?thanks Paul

Hi Paul, I found that price too on ebay but think its definately worth while doing it yourself as you can prob save around 600-800 notes by doing it this way. Im no expert and personally dont think its that hard to do, yes it involves removing seats and radio etc but its only a car at the end of the day.

If the monitor is from an x5 coding shouldnt be a prob either, Im ready to give it a blast!

Ive emailed andy about the harness he uses, ill post a reply once he responds.

I think BMW may sell the retrofit harness for a better ££ than some may think too? I may call them tomorrow if I have time.

Nav Retrofit

Here is the list of parts required.

Try the seller Individual Car Consulting on EBay Germany. He ships worldwide and sells the retrofit harness, plus a package with all other bits and pieces except the Monitor, Drive and Radion.
