Released 11/2002 - The MK4 units were shipped with 4-1/10 from the factory at the start (from 09/02 to 10/02) but this version had some known bugs and therefore BMW put the text "T20.10" as a dealer reminder to upgrade with the V20.1 CD when available.

It is a very old test version. You need to update your nav software to current version 4/1-80

very few vehicles actually have their nav systems updated. only us die-hard enthusiasts bother doing so.

Who knows? Who cares!

It's like saying "What bugs does Win 95 have? Why hasn't this Win 95 PC been upgraded?"

Just do it.

The point of that message was to make sure that the dealer updated the firmware the first time the car went in for a service. I'd be asking the dealer who serviced the car why they did not do it!
