Buffboy...

Did you have any luck with getting your hands on the 2007 Aussie Map?

Yes, I have version 13.

It is a CD, not a DVD for non-iDrive vehicles and the $400 mainly goes to the mapping company. For the Australian data this is www.sensis.com.au
If you don't believe me, look at how much the Australian map data for a TomTom or Garmin device costs...

I'm surprised at how cheap some people are here given the cars they drive... and I notice that you've only just joined this forum. Nice... join up and then ask for a 'free' copy of an expensive map disc.

If you want it that badly, go and buy it.

I can see all points of view but lets remember that most of the technical data (pdf files) that are accessed here are copyrighted by BMW!

And you honestly believe that's the same? Using the liner notes as reference to see who playing on a CD can't be the same as uploading a $200 CD to the internet for people to use at their leisure.

I'm not talking about the CD liner notes. Say for example the retrofit instructions for NAV, they are copyright! Rather than pay $3000 to BMW for the kit that includes the instructions many of us get the instructions and buy the parts seperately used, bypassing BMW and stopping them making profits on the retrofit kit. It is no different. Can you honestly tell me you have NEVER copied a $20 CD or $30 DVD or put someone elses CD in your ITunes?

It's just a point of view - no need to get upset!

For you information nobody's upset about anything. It's an illustration my friend. All i'm telling you is you can copy whatever you want. You might want to give some thought about advocating or carry out piracy on a public forum. It just isn't good form.

FWIW, I bought V13 when it first came out a couple of months ago, and posted here about its shortcomings. It got to be such a PITA where I live, that I returned it and got a refund, quite happy using V12 without the error messages.

The mapping on V13 is so bad that it doesn't incorporate major road changes (eg Calder/Tullamarine interchange), and gives bad directions as a result.

OT, amazing to log on in an internet cafe in the Greek Islands, and auto fill comes up with X5World!!!!!
