Now on Hydra, great holiday: UK next week

When you get out of the main mapping area with V13, watch whether the mapping continues on the side roads, and whether it comes up with "Navigation no longer..etc". V13 repeatedly did that for me, on roads that are no problem with V12.

Found that V13 is not up to date with Albury/Wodonga area.

There's now a new highway which by passes about a dozen sets of lights through the two towns, and so you can zoom past at 110 km/hr without stopping once.

Unfortunately, this is not on V13.

Guys just so that you know, Sensis has released an interim Map Update to some Sat Nav Manufacturers. It's not V14 but it is certainly an update. Tom Tom has these maps on their new models (eg Tom Tom One XL) with the version .675. These maps also now contain new data with Speed limits for different roads embdedded, HOWEVER this feature seems to still be in its infancy with the typical 'hit and miss' Sensis approach.

I suspect the reason for the interim release was due to some major changes (eg Lane Cove tunnel opening is updated) that couldn't wait for 12mths.

Naturallly BMW will no doubt take their sweet time in releasing this for BMW owners and will of course criple the maps as usual by removing the embedded Speed/Red Light Camera POIs 'in the interest of safety' as they claimed with V13.

If I come across a more solid release date I'll let you know...

Yep, dealer said $300 with next upgrade Feb / March 2008. Wouldn't mind paying but doesn't include Lane Cove tunnel so not much use. BMW should consider an interim upgrade for a modest fee or charge less as maps (for Sydney drivers) are now out of date.

Are you sure about that radrat? The interim maps released by Sensis for Tomtom etc already DO have the lane cove tunnel so I'd be very surprised if V14 scheduled for release later this year doesn't have it.
