I found this website http://poi.ravestation.net/nav_os/v29_5/v29_5.exe on Google search while trying to research the 29.1 upgrade. Everything looked normal tell I got to the bottom where the version following 28 was listed as 29.5. Has there already been another software release since version 29.1? I thought this might be a typo but the unit software version is listed as 4-1/95 currently mine reads 4-1/91 after upgrading to 29.1. Is this just the European version?

No. It is not newer than 29.1. This 29.5 is actually a customised 29.1 version. I think it has the Spanish language files copied onto some other, or all other, language files to fool the system into speaking Spanish without the need to recode for Spanish language. It is either that or something similar to the same effect. It may also have a custom splash screen.
You do not want to upgrade to this 29.5 if you do not want your system to speak Spanish, or you have, or plan to have, your system properly recoded.
