How Do I Get The =bmw= Nav Logo?

Hi everyone,

when I open my door the semi lights up, or when I start my car the nav lights up to the option screen. But I never get the =BMW= logo screen?

Is that normal? I kind of would like to see the logo. Is there an potion or do I need new software or what?

My X5 2001 4.4i
I had small nav my first mod was to upgrade to 16:9 nav and also updated my os from: 1-3/21 now I have 1-3/31
with small or large nav I never had logo.

Please help.

Thx

Sorry, I don't know the dinifitive steps. However, a moderator will move this question to the Navigation forum and it will be answered pretty quickly. Or, you can ask your question again over there.

As soon as you push the 'unlock' button on the key all of the cars electronics wake up.

The =BMW= screen is only shown when the car's navigation is booting up. If you take long enough to walk to your car (10-20 seconds), then by the time you turn the key it's already started - taking you straight to the accept screen.

If you really want to see it, only unlock the car once you are right next to it. Jump in and turn the key. Then you should be able to see the =BMW= logo...

The splash screen only appears from a certain software version
The latest versions for the colour-screen navs are:
Mk3 3-1/63
Mk4 4-1/91

Sounds like you have a very old software version, upgrade to the latest software and you should find your ===BMW=== splash screen

You may have ver 16 or 17. You may have to upgrade to ver 18 first (when I had a 2001 and I beleive I had done the same) and then go to ver 29.1
