I just can't get it to Work!!!!

I have a MkIII system that I tried to update to V27 it won't take it so, I read somewhere else to use V22 I downloaded it and burned it at 2X it goes through the complete installation process but it never says to remove cd and put in map cd. I have let it sit in the 100% complete process for at least 15 mins. When I try to put in the map cd it is a black screen. It doesn't ever fully load the software. HELP!!!!!

You will have burnt a Mode1 CD. Trying to load OS from a Mode1 CD puts a Mk3 nav in an endless loop.

But you can recover from this.

You can recover by burning a Mode2/Form1 CD. Use ImgBurn to confirm the image type is Mode2/Form1 before you burn the image.
Verify the OS CD after the burn that it is error free, and that it is a Mode2/Form1 CD.

Then insert the CD into the nav and it will load the OS and come back to life.

This problem has happened to many people, they always managed to fix it with the Mode2 CD.

Thanks! any ideas how to free up whatever is blocking the cd from going into the unit? I spin the gear under the motor and it doesn't pull the tray back.

Sure you don't have a CD in there already? If so, you'll need to remove the CD.
