BMW TV module re-programming.
I've swapped over my MK2 to MK3 and later to a MK4 computer some time ago, and recently I've swapped out my 4x3 monitor for a 16x9 monitor, which was easy and smooth aswell. But... My TV module is still set to work in 4x3 mode and because it the monitor switches over to 4x3 even when your not watching TV/DVD/etc. Sometimes (50% chance) the system misses this status from the TV module and everything works in 16x9 mode, until you decide to watch a bit of TV and system gets updated with the 'right' status. Does someone know something about reprogramming or setting the TV module to work in both modes? It seems to be possible because some people are offering this service on there webshop or on eBay, for example this. (is this OK?) Cheers

I have heard that the video module EEPROM need to be updated with new software to make it work 16:9.
So the company you highlighted would load newer updated code into your EEPROM Or otherwise - change your video module to a later version that supports 16:9 |
