Hi Jochen !

first of all: thanks for your great work!

BUT: regarding the "TV unlocking" feature:
I found out (after a large series of tests...) that the only way the TV coding works is the following:
1.) set ignition to II (last before engine start, perhaps other positions would also work)
2.) coding TV Tuner with your software
3.) turn ignition totally off (eject car key)
... waiting 10 seconds ...
4.) turn ignition on again (position II)
5.) unplug TV Tuner (blue connector)

If I ONLY turn off the ignition or ONLY unplug the TV Tuner after coding, the coding does not work. (neither enabling nor disabling "TV in motion" funktion).

If I don't unplug the TV Tuner after ignition off->on, a click on "Read TV settings" shows me the correct status I coded, but it does not work like coded.

Does anyone have an idea why I also have to unplug the TV Tuner (so completely disconnect from power)

You did not wait long enough for the car to power down. Like the nav, the video module switches on and off according to the ibus traffic. 10 seconds is not long enough for the car to have gone to sleep.
As an indication, the red LED on the nav shows when there is ibus traffic - when the red LED on the nav goes out, then the ibus is in a sleep state and all connected devices have shut down.

Then after 15min, the entire car goes to sleep - light on transmission goes off - this is the full power-down for the vehicle.

Ahh! I understand. Thanks!

strange: I also tried it with the 1.36 russian BMW scanner (from which also you have the codes as I think) and with this I tried it with the "complete ibus shutdown, but it didn't work.

anyway: fine that your software works!

Respect for your work (you do for free) !!!
(as you know, I also do a lot of HW and SW developement and I know that hours and days pass away like nothing with things like that)

Sorry for not being complete.
See attachment for a part of the logfile. ecspecially the error from 21:16:06

MK4, OS29.1, connected via CD-changer.
Laptop physical comport, Win 98ME. Com settings 115200,8,None,1,None
Also 9600 no solution.

It seems that I have connection but only reading, no writing.
Sometimes I get radio and TV in a scan.

Is it nesscesary to have the disc when trying to change the language?

Thanks for helping

If you add a language that is not currently not available (also if you only change the type (female/male) you will definately need the OS CD.
Otherwise, you can also switch the language without coding: just go into "Settings" on main menu and select one of the available languages.

I have a OS (29.1) cd, so this is no problem
I want to change it to dutch, which is not availible in the settings.
I also want to look at other options

Is there a step by step manual or is there a way to test the interface.

Thanks for reply,

Perhaps your iBus interface is defective !
I see no valid reason, why you should be able to receive via the serial port, but not send.
And as long as I can see in your log: you can send !

I'm sure to 99,9% that this is no software failure but hardware.

I saw that this question was already asked.
I also think to know what the cause is.

The Q2 of the interface is mounted wrong.

Thanks for your help
