upgrading to 16:9 screen.

Hey,

I've read a bit of information on this site and i just awnt to confirm that it can be done. We are about to purchase an '01 4.4 and it had the 4:3 naviagtion display. In the rear it had the "DVD-ROM" navigation computer. Is it possible to upgrade the 4.3 display to the full 16:9 display?

thanks,
mike

Yes, I did this to mine so I know from first hand experience that it can be done. I documented my upgrade here - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=94

Check the forums for the group buy thread for the Nav screens. I'm planning to buy an MkIV Nav unit on that. Otherwise, ebay.

Yes, the 16:9 screen will work with both the MkIII and the MkIV.

Good sources are eBay or check with Sean (he has a group buy thread here somewhere)
