PLEASE HELP! Navigation system fried?!?!
He has a 2001 740iL. It has the 16x9 nav screen and is CDROM based, so I believe it to be MKIII. From whats been communicated to me, he put it in, got freaked out when the screen went blank and took it out. Nothing has come back up on the screen since and he's pissed at me... I told him the risks involved and that there was a special procedure which I WOULD DO if he wanted, but he did it on his own. I feel terrible about this--what can be done? |

It may be recoverable. Tell him to re-insert the disk, and leave it there for while. It may reload.

I'm at his house now trying to recover it. It doesn't seem to be taking... I'm not positive I burned a non-mode1 cd, so I'm downloading version 28 and am going to be sure to burn mode 2.
I sincerely doubt that is the issue, but I'm hoping for a fix.

Burned v28 on another computer with a different brand cdr (TDK) and burner (liteon) and we're back in business!
