Question Inputing GPS Coordinates question

Okay, if you have MKIV DVD-based BMW OEM Navigation system, how do you input GPS/Navigagtion coordinates in U.S. BMWs? I know our navigation system shows us coordinates, but how do we input navigation coordinates as a destination?

BTW, I have V29.1 NAV OS installed.

Thanks in advance....

Besides burning down a DVD with your own POI GPS coordinates, I don't know any other way to directly input them on the menus. Maybe someone wants to correct me?

Nope, you can't enter a pair of co-ordinates, but you can select a destination on the map using the crosshairs. No lat/log display with the map though.

You could narrow things down somewhat by creating a grid of lat/log co-ordinates for the general area of interest and adding these to the map as custom POI. The degree of accuracy will be determined by how fine your grid is. Not an ideal solution, but possibly a workaround...

That is a sad thing that we can't directly input GPS coordinates in our "Navgiation-GPS" system.

I wonder if BMWs with iDrive with NAV can input Longitude & Latitude data on their NAV system?
